The EMB-314 'Super Tucano' is built by Embraer of Brazil and represents an excellent entry into the category of advanced airman training and light attack. Introduced in 2003, the light-class aircraft is capable of low-and-slow loitering and attack actions with support for many in-service weapon solutions including rocket pods, gun pods, cannon pods, dumb/precision bombs, and even air-to-air/air-to-surface missiles. The design is an inherently rugged, proven system that has seen increasing interest from foreign parties for its versatility. To date, some 250 units have been produced and these stock the inventories of the rebuilding Afghan Air Force as well as the established forces of Brazil, Indonesia, the Philippines and others.
